This Wedding was Brought to you by the US Constitution
Mark and Jeff have been together for almost 20 years and worked on the Georgia State legislation (that failed) to allow Same Sex Couples to marry in Georgia. So when the US Supreme ruled in favor of same sex marriage nationwide. “No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family,” Kennedy wrote. “In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than they once were.”
In those beautiful words started the design behind this amazing wedding. We had individual pocket sized constitutions wrapped in custom belly bands with each guests name, table assignment, and menu selection. These glorious little constitutions also doubled as the wedding favors that the guests were able to take home with them.
In choosing the iconic southern venue The Georgian Terrace Hotel & Ballroom we started our journey to mix a little old with new. Our colors were a rich purple with gold and ivory accents with paired lovely in the neutral classic Georgian Ballroom.
The two and only flowers on display were Iris’s and Cala Lily’s, which I must admit in the beginning I was little nervous about. But with the help of the ever talented designer JWilbur at EventScapes to pull our design ideas together.
With every attention to detail covered from the moment the guests arrived to check into the hotel. Guests were greeted with a welcome box filled with Moet mini-splits of Champagne, fresh made individual Georgia Peach Pies, and a little hangover kit for the next morning after all those bubbles!
What a better way to to see Atlanta then on the rooftop of the Georgian Terrace.
With emotional wedding vows, champagne popping, and a full band playing the night away the celebration was a success.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of such a special time in your lives. I will truly cherish these memories forever!
Love Always!
