There are always challenges with wedding planning from a distance. But what do you do when the Bride lives in Dubai, the Groom lives in California, and the wedding is in Atlanta, GA? Use Skype A-LOT for planning meetings!
We were thrilled to be chosen as the Atlanta based Planning team to help Sara pull together her dream wedding reception in the US. Sara + Omar had a small family ceremony in Dubai but this reception in Atlanta was for everyone. There were over 200 guests invited from over 10 different states and countries. And all she wanted was a classic white wedding.
The Venetian Room in the historic Hurt Building was a perfect choice for both it’s size and decor. With a soft white palate, white marble floors, and grand staircase we had a gorgeous setting to start with. The venue provided gold chivari chairs but our overall look had more silver tones to it so we chose to bring in Silver Chivari Chairs to complete the design.
This classic wedding look only had white and greenery with accents of silver for a color palate. There was nothing rustic about this wedding but one of the favorite flowers that the bride had to incorporate was baby’s breath. We so love working with Jwilbur over at EventScapes and always seem to bring him a good challenge. And thank goodness he always accepts. You try and search for baby’s breath at a wedding and not find a rustic look. That’s a dare! Working with EventScapes is such a fabulous experience because they let us just tromp through their huge ware house to find the perfect containers & flowers.
A huge stunning focal point of the evening was an Ice Sculpture backdrop behind the bar that was filled with white florals and greenery. This Ice Sculpture was over 4 feet tall and in 5 different sections that covered the entire back wall where the bar was. It only makes sense to design such a gorgeous statement piece at the bar since all of her guests would be at the bar at least once that evening.
As a surprise to the groom, who has an expansive record collection, Ramona over a Perfect Wedding Cake designed and hand crafted a grooms cake that was an old school suitcase record player. Oh the look on his face and excitement in his eyes for this one of a kind cake was priceless. Don’t worry as it wasn’t going to over shine the 5 tier ombre cake sitting atop a baby grand piano in 3 different flavors for guests to enjoy as dessert.
Now this is how you exit a wedding! With guests still parting the night away inside we snuck out our so in-love couple for a fabulous rose petal exit. We loved the perfect lighting that Laura Stone provided, it’s as if the rose petals are glowing through the night sky.
